Scheme
The scheme is open to 125,000 householders and landlords in England
who privately own or rent dwellings that have a G rated boiler. The boiler must
be in working order and be the main boiler used to heat the home. Householders
(including tenants) 60 or over can apply regardless of whether the boiler is in
working order.
Does my boiler qualify?
A good quick test is to see if it has a permanent pilot light, a chimney flue, is gas fired and over 15 years old or is oil fired and over 25 years old. You can also check if your boiler make and model is listed on the governments boiler efficiency database by visiting the the Energy Savings Trust (EST) website or calling them on 0800 512 012. If you do not know the exact name of your boiler, or it is not on the list, select ‘not on the list’ option when asked to enter the model name. This will ask you questions about your boiler and indicate eligibility.
